Girly day out at Shrek's Adventure
Once upon the time, in a very far away Kingdom, in North West London, there was a lovely princess called Lauryn, she lived in a beautiful house with a garden, close to a canal full of beautiful white swans. The princess, lived with her royal family, who gave her everything she always dreamed; pink dresses, lovely toys, swimming and ballet classes, and she was so cool that all her friends invite her to their fantastic private birthday parties.
Lauryn is my first child, my BFF (Best Friend Forever), and the one who taught me the motherhood manual. Everything I know about being mumsy, I owe it to her, the first breastfed main course, and a full intensive course of English nursery rhymes. Apart from that, I went to almost all the playgroups and baby sensory rooms, which allowed me to meet a bunch of mums.
Thank you sweetheart for teaching mummy how to correctly spell the ABC song.
Finally, I know the difference between J and G.
After the arrival of my baby number two, I try hard to be fair and share my unconditional attention, between my children.
The harsh reality is that having a newborn is an on demand, 24hours a day job without breaks. In other words, bloody exhausting.
Lauryn is only four years old, but is really mature for her age, a little madam, looking at her is exactly like seeing my own reflection in the mirror, but in a mini version. I am so lucky, because it is difficult to please a toddler, but she is always happy and never complains.
So mummy here! Yeah me! I decided to surprise her with a day out just for girls, like back in the days, when it used to be just the two of us. No one fighting for a cuddle.
I decided to compensate her, so I changed Joylen’s day in at nursery.
Daddy was away.
No one could stop us.
Ready steady go, Shrek Adventure here we go.
I have to say, that commuting to Waterloo on the tube was a crazy maze, an Ocean of people coming from all the directions, and so visible is the lack of compassion for elderly, pregnant women, and children.
I grabbed Lauryn tight in my arms, and we managed to survive until we reached the entrance of Shrek‘s adventure. I bought the tickets online to avoid the huge queue, which made my life so much easier.
Mummy this is beautiful!
Shrek’s adventurer, is shrektacular no doubt about it, but to be honest I think that we had a long waiting time. Unbelievably, the worst bit of the adventure was the interminable corridors. Jesus Christ, seemed like I was caught in the traffic on Harrow Road, on an event day at Wembley Stadium. After waiting twenty minutes, we finally arrived at the bus portal. Princess Fiona welcomed us, and donkey was our driver.
I love it! Donkey is, something else!
That Eddie Murphy voice is hilarious.
We went to the bus, which drove us throughout a 4-dimensional trip to the Far Far away fairytale kingdom. The special effects were amazing, so close to reality, seemed like we were really inside the story, and the little details like crossing the ocean, really fast and feeling the breeze, and the water dropping in our faces. Apparently on the way to Far Far away the donkey knocked down a witch and we became the MOST WANTED guys in the all land, our only hope was Shrek.
Pretty awesome
After, the bus trip, we were taken to different rooms, where we met different characters, and princesses such as Cinderella, sleeping beauty, Pinocchio, Puss in boots and The Gingerbread man. Lauryn loved it, until the witches came into the scenario. She was a bit scared but when the gingerbread man appeared she was excited again.
That’s right, we were characters in the adventure as well.
We were in the middle of a fascinating environment. Shrek’s adventurer is an amazing therapy to temporarily freeze mummy problems.
So, we saved the day, and at the end, we managed to take lots of pictures including with the unbelievable Shrek.
The merchandizing people tried to convince me to buy a £25 book with 3 pictures, games and storytelling. But no thank you. I have different plans with that money.
The little one cried for Macdonald’s, well once in a while it's not a big deal. So why not?
But unfortunately, MacDonald’s was full of hundreds of people. No way!
So we walk along the bridge, and we took pictures close to Big Ben and London eye. After the long walk time for find a nice and cheaper place to eat in Piccadilly Circus.
Pizza Hut buffet! Bingo
We ate so much pizza. Mamma Mia
I was a bit greedy I have to confess.
But we women deserve a special treat now and again, the best part was the self-service of ice cream with chocolate sprinkles and colorful candy. Delicious!
After our amazing meal, it was time to pick up Joylen at nursery
Singing along: Back to life back to reality.
Back to, the mummy routine.
Lauryn was really happy, and I felt so glad to relive the memories of when it was the two of us. I have to this more often, more girly days out.
But now, our family is bigger, and we need to adjust everything, feelings, priorities and time. But the most important thing is that I love my kids, I love them to the moon and back, and each one of them has a secret place reserved inside my heart.
