I am an ambitious, bilingual Journalist with a demonstrated history of broadcasting on different media platforms, both in Portuguese and English. I am a dedicated mother of two young children, passionate about news and parenting related topics. However, I am not limited to these subjects. I am open-minded and I enjoy challenges, my goal is to explore different journalistic markets so that I can demonstrate my versatility within the journalism industry.
I come from a film and video background, which makes me confident when telling stories, on any kind of media platform. In other words, digital technology is one of my best friends.
Currently, I am in my final year of a Broadcast Journalism course at the University of West London.
I also work as a vlogger for the university Youtube channel, ‘Love Life at Uni.’ My vlogs are produced to show and speak about a number of student parent, real-life stories. I also present and produce an animated radio show called ‘The Mama Show’, which broadcasts life every Monday from 2 pm till 3 pm, on ‘Blast Radio.’ (www.uwlblastmedia.com)
I have also worked with the New York Financial Press, on the floor of Wall Street, where I reported live, economic news. I am a correspondent for a Portuguese newspaper called ‘Luso Comunidades,’ based in New Jersey, USA. Reporting from London, I focus on current affairs and feature articles about the Portuguese communities living in the UK.
